1. Who We Are
SILENTSALE LTD ("SilentID", "we", "us", or "our") is a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 16457502). We operate the SilentID trust identity service for anyone building and proving their digital reputation.

2. What Data We Collect
2.1 Waitlist Registration
When you join our waitlist, we collect:
- Email address: To notify you when SilentID launches and send marketing updates you've consented to receive.
- Timestamp: When you joined the waitlist.
- IP address: For fraud prevention and security purposes (stored temporarily).
2.2 Account Registration
When you create a SilentID account, we collect:
- Email address: For account authentication and communication.
- Display name: Your chosen public display name (you control this).
- Phone number (optional): For additional account security.
- Device information: For fraud prevention and security.
2.3 Identity Verification Data
When you complete identity verification, we collect and store the following with your explicit consent:
- Verified full name: Your legal name as it appears on your government-issued ID.
- Date of birth: As verified from your ID document.
- Verified address: Your address if provided during verification.
- Document type: The type of ID used (e.g., passport, driving licence).
- Document issuing country: The country that issued your ID.
Important notes about identity verification:
- Your ID documents are stored securely by Stripe Identity, not on SilentID servers. Authorised SilentID compliance personnel may access verification data through Stripe's dashboard solely for fraud investigation, dispute resolution, or legal compliance purposes. We receive and store the verification result and verified data with your consent. Please refer to Stripe's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your documents.
- This data is NEVER displayed publicly. Your verified identity data is only used internally for fraud prevention, trust scoring, and dispute resolution.
- Consent is required. You must explicitly consent before we store this data. You can verify your identity without storing this data, but we recommend it for better fraud protection.
- You can revoke consent at any time. If you revoke consent, all stored identity data is immediately deleted. Your verification status remains valid.
Legal basis: Your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Article 9(2)(a) for any special category data).
2.4 Profile Verification Data
When you verify profile ownership using screen recording:
- Video frames: Temporarily captured during recording and deleted after analysis
- OCR-extracted text: Processed on-device when possible, or via Azure Computer Vision API
- Verification result: Whether the token was found (stored)
Important: Raw screen recordings are NOT permanently stored. They are analysed and immediately deleted.
2.5 Safety Check Data (Pro Feature)
When you use Safety Check to analyse messages or screenshots:
- Submitted content: NOT stored by default - analysed and immediately discarded
- Analysis results: Risk level and detected signals (optionally saved)
- OCR processing: May use Azure Computer Vision API when on-device OCR is unavailable
2.6 Video Evidence Data
When you use Video Evidence for shipping disputes:
- Video file: Your recorded packing/unboxing video (stored securely on Azure Blob Storage)
- Evidence ID: Unique identifier (SID-XXXXXXXX) generated on your device and burned into the video
- Recording timestamp: UTC timestamp from your device clock
- File metadata: Duration, file size, format, SHA-256 hash for integrity verification
- Associated tracking number: Linked when shipping label is created
- GPS coordinates: Optional, only if location services are enabled
On-device processing: Watermarks (Evidence ID and timestamp) are burned into the video on your device using ffmpeg technology before upload. SilentID does NOT alter videos after upload.
Storage & retention: Videos are stored for 90 days (extended with Pro). You can generate shareable public links and PDF certificates for dispute documentation.
We do NOT: Access or alter videos after upload, share videos without your action, or use video content for any purpose other than evidence storage.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your email address to:
- Send you a confirmation email when you join the waitlist
- Notify you when SilentID launches
- Send occasional updates about SilentID features and news (with your consent)
Legal basis: Your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) when you tick the consent checkbox and submit the waitlist form.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using:
- Azure Table Storage: Your email is stored in Microsoft Azure data centres located in the UK.
- Encryption: All data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard protocols.
- Access controls: Only authorised personnel can access waitlist data.
5. Data Sharing
5.1 Service Providers
We share your data only with trusted service providers who process data under GDPR-compliant agreements:
- Stripe Identity: Processes your identity verification. They securely verify your ID document and return only the verification result and verified data to us. Please refer to Stripe's Privacy Policy for details on their document handling practices.
- Resend / MailerSend: Our email service providers, used to send you emails.
- Microsoft Azure: Our cloud hosting provider for data storage, located in the UK.
5.2 Third-Party Applications ("Sign in with SilentID")
When you use "Sign in with SilentID" to authenticate with third-party applications:
- Explicit consent required: You will see a consent screen showing exactly what data the third-party is requesting before any data is shared.
- Data shared: May include your profile information, trust score, identity verification status, and connected platforms - depending on what you authorize.
- Third-party responsibility: Once shared, your data is governed by the third-party's privacy policy. SilentID is not responsible for how third parties use your data.
- Revocation: You can revoke access to any third-party application at any time from your SilentID settings. This stops future data sharing but does not delete data already shared.
- Legal basis: Your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) provided through the OAuth consent screen.
Important: We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party application before authorizing access to your SilentID data.
We do NOT sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties for marketing purposes.
6. Your Rights Under GDPR
As a UK/EU resident, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data we hold
- Rectification: Correct any inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erasure: Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Withdraw consent: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time
- Data portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Object: Object to processing of your data
- Lodge a complaint: Contact the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk

7. Data Retention
We retain your waitlist email until:
- You unsubscribe from our mailing list
- You request deletion of your data
- SilentID launches and you either sign up or we remove inactive waitlist entries (after 12 months of inactivity)
8. Cookies
This waitlist page uses only essential cookies required for the website to function properly. We do NOT use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics that track individual users.
9. International Transfers
Your data is processed and stored within the UK and European Economic Area. If any data is transferred outside these regions, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by email. The latest version will always be available on this page with the "Last updated" date.
