3. ACCOUNT CREATION & SECURITY
3.1 Account Registration
To use SilentID, you must create an account using one of these passwordless methods:
- Apple Sign-In
- Google Sign-In
- Passkeys (Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, or security key)
- Email OTP (one-time code sent to your email)
SilentID is 100% passwordless. We do NOT store passwords because we do NOT use passwords.
3.2 One Account Per Person
Each person may have only ONE SilentID account. Creating multiple accounts to manipulate TrustScores or circumvent restrictions is prohibited and will result in account termination.
3.3 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must:
- Keep your email account secure
- Protect your device with biometric security or passcode
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access
- Not share your account access with others
3.4 Consent Logging
When you agree to these Terms, we record: timestamp, hashed IP address, hashed device fingerprint, and Terms version. This creates a verifiable consent record.
4. IDENTITY VERIFICATION
4.1 Stripe Identity
Identity verification is processed by Stripe Identity, a third-party service. When you verify your identity:
- You provide ID documents and a selfie directly to Stripe
- Stripe processes these documents according to their Privacy Policy
- SilentID receives the verification result and, with your consent, verified identity data
SilentID NEVER stores your ID documents, selfies, or biometric data. Please refer to Stripe's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your documents.
4.2 Identity Data Consent
Before starting identity verification, you will be asked to consent to the storage of verified identity data. By consenting, you agree that SilentID may store:
- Your verified full name (as it appears on your ID document)
- Your verified date of birth
- Your verified address (if provided during verification)
- Document type and issuing country
Purpose and Safeguards:
- This data is used only for fraud prevention, trust scoring, and dispute resolution
- This data is NEVER displayed publicly on your Trust Passport
- You can revoke consent at any time via Settings → Privacy
- Upon revocation, all stored verified identity data is immediately deleted
- Your verification status remains valid even after revoking consent
If you decline to consent, you may still complete identity verification, but we will not store the verified data from Stripe. This may limit certain fraud protection features.
4.3 Verification Benefits
Completing identity verification contributes up to 300 points to your TrustScore and enables the "ID Verified" badge on your Trust Passport.
4.4 Verification Accuracy
You must provide accurate, genuine documents. Submitting fraudulent, altered, or another person's documents will result in immediate account termination and may be reported to authorities.
5. TRUSTSCORE SYSTEM
5.1 TrustScore Calculation
Your TrustScore (0-1000) is calculated from three components:
- Identity (up to 300 points): Email verification, Stripe Identity verification, passkey setup
- Profiles (up to 400 points): Verified marketplace and social profiles with their ratings
- Behaviour (up to 300 points): Account age, login patterns, platform engagement
5.2 Score Regeneration
Your TrustScore regenerates weekly. Changes to your connected profiles, verification status, or account behaviour may affect your score.
5.3 TrustScore Disclaimer
IMPORTANT: TrustScore is an indicative signal of trustworthiness based on verified data. It is:
- NOT a credit score and has no bearing on creditworthiness
- NOT a guarantee of future behaviour or reliability
- NOT legally actionable - you cannot bring claims against SilentID based solely on TrustScore values or changes
- NOT influenced by payment - paid subscriptions do NOT increase your TrustScore
5.4 Combined Star Rating
Pro users see an aggregated star rating calculated from all connected marketplace profiles (e.g., "4.8 across 5 platforms"). This is a mathematical average and is provided for informational purposes only.
6. PROFILE LINKING & VERIFICATION
6.1 Linking Profiles
You can link external profiles from marketplaces (Vinted, eBay, Depop, etc.) and social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, etc.) to SilentID. Linked profiles appear on your Trust Passport but do not contribute maximum TrustScore points until verified.
6.2 Verification Methods
Profile ownership is verified via:
- Token-in-Bio: Add a unique code to your profile bio temporarily
- Share-Target: Share your profile link from the platform app directly to SilentID
6.3 Profile Stats Refresh
- All users: Profile stats auto-refresh every 30 days
- Pro users: Can manually refresh stats every 7 days
- Last-known stats are preserved if refresh fails
6.4 Re-Verification Requirement
Profile ownership must be re-verified every 90 days. If re-verification fails or is not completed, the profile is downgraded to "Linked" status (Level 2) but last-known stats are preserved.
6.5 Ownership Requirement
You may only link profiles that you personally own and control. Linking someone else's profile is prohibited and will result in account termination.
7. PUBLIC TRUST PASSPORT
7.1 Public URL
Your Trust Passport is accessible via a public URL (silentid.co.uk/u/username). You control what information is displayed.
7.2 Verified Badge
You can download and share a Verified Badge image containing your TrustScore, combined rating, platform count, and a QR code linking to your full Trust Passport.
7.3 Privacy Controls
You can control which elements appear on your public Trust Passport, including whether to show your TrustScore, connected platforms, and verification status.
8. SUBSCRIPTIONS & BILLING
8.1 Subscription Tiers

8.2 Payment Processing

8.3 Subscription Terms
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month
- You can cancel anytime; access continues until the end of the billing period
- No refunds for partial months
- Price changes will be notified 30 days in advance
8.4 TrustScore Independence
Paid subscriptions do NOT increase your TrustScore. Your score is based purely on verified data and behaviour, never on payment status.
9. THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS
9.1 Platform Compliance
When linking external profiles from Vinted, eBay, Depop, Instagram, TikTok, or other platforms, you must comply with those platforms' terms of service. SilentID is not responsible for:
- Violations of third-party platform terms
- Account suspensions or bans on external platforms
- Changes to external platform data or ratings
- Accuracy of data obtained from external platforms
9.2 Data Accuracy
Profile data (ratings, reviews, follower counts) is captured at the time of verification and refresh. SilentID does not guarantee this data is current or accurate, as external platforms may change at any time.
9.3 Sign in with SilentID (Third-Party Integration)
SilentID may allow you to authenticate and share your trust data with third-party applications using "Sign in with SilentID".
9.3.1 User Consent
When you use "Sign in with SilentID":
- You will see exactly what data the third-party app is requesting
- You must explicitly consent before any data is shared
- You can revoke access at any time from your SilentID settings
- Revoking access stops future data sharing but doesn't delete data already shared
9.3.2 Third-Party Responsibility
Third-party applications:
- Are independent from SilentID and governed by their own terms
- Are responsible for how they use your shared data
- Must comply with our Developer Terms to access our API
- May use your data differently than SilentID - review their privacy policy
9.3.3 Our Limitations
SilentID:
- Does not control third-party applications or their use of your data
- Is not responsible for third-party actions or data handling
- May revoke API access from applications that violate our Developer Terms
- Encourages you to review third-party privacy policies before authorizing
10. SAFETY CHECK FEATURE
10.1 What Safety Check Is
Safety Check is an optional Pro-only feature that helps you review marketplace messages, listings, or screenshots for patterns commonly associated with high-risk or problematic behaviour. It is a guidance tool, not a definitive judgement system.
Safety Check is NOT an identity verification service. It analyses message content and patterns—it does NOT verify who sent a message or confirm anyone's identity.
10.2 How Safety Check Works
You can submit content for analysis in two ways:
- Paste Text: Copy and paste message text directly into Safety Check
- Upload Screenshot: Upload an image of a conversation; text is extracted via on-device OCR or, when necessary, Azure Computer Vision API
10.3 Storage & Privacy
By default, SilentID does NOT store:
- Raw text you paste into Safety Check
- Screenshots you upload
- OCR-extracted text from images
Only the analysis result (risk level, signal summary) may be stored temporarily for your session. You may optionally choose to save a Safety Check result to your account for future reference.
10.4 Third-Party Services
When on-device OCR is unavailable or insufficient, Safety Check may use Azure Computer Vision API (Microsoft) to extract text from images. When this occurs, your image is transmitted securely to Azure for processing. Microsoft's data handling is governed by their privacy policy.
10.5 Disclaimers
IMPORTANT: Safety Check provides guidance only. By using Safety Check, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Safety Check does NOT guarantee the safety of any transaction
- Safety Check does NOT identify individuals as "scammers" or "fraudsters"—it identifies patterns resembling common high-risk behaviour
- A "low risk" result does NOT mean the transaction is safe—always exercise your own judgement
- A "high risk" result does NOT prove wrongdoing—false positives can occur
- SilentID is NOT liable for any losses, damages, or decisions made based on Safety Check results
- You remain solely responsible for your own buying and selling decisions
10.6 Safety Language
Safety Check uses neutral, professional language. Results will indicate:
- "High-risk signals detected" — NOT "This is a scam"
- "Resembles common problematic patterns" — NOT "This person is a scammer"
- "Proceed with caution" — NOT "Do not proceed"
10.7 Abuse Prevention
You agree NOT to use Safety Check to:
- Harass, defame, or publicly accuse individuals based on Safety Check results
- Submit fabricated or manipulated content to generate false reports
- Circumvent rate limits or abuse the service
- Use results as evidence in legal proceedings without appropriate context
Abuse of Safety Check may result in feature suspension or account termination.

- Notify you via email at least 30 days before the changes take effect
- Display a prominent notice in the app

17.2 Acceptance
Continued use of SilentID after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using SilentID and delete your account.
18. GENERAL PROVISIONS
18.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SilentID.
18.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
18.3 No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
18.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms. We may assign our rights to any affiliate or successor.
18.5 Electronic Signature
By tapping "I Agree" during registration, you provide a legally binding electronic signature under the Electronic Communications Act 2000 and the eIDAS Regulation.
19. SHIPPING, DELIVERY, PAYMENTS, CLAIMS & COMPENSATION
19.1 Role of SilentID
SilentID provides a platform through which users may purchase shipping labels for sending parcels. SilentID is not a delivery service, carrier, or courier. SilentID does not transport, handle, or physically deliver parcels.
All delivery services are provided by independent third-party courier companies. SilentID does not control courier operations, routing, staffing, or delivery decisions. SilentID acts solely as an intermediary facilitating access to courier services.
19.2 Courier Services and Applicable Terms
Before purchasing a shipping label, the courier name and service type are displayed to you. Each courier operates under its own terms and conditions, which govern delivery performance, handling procedures, liability, exclusions, and compensation limits.
By purchasing a shipping label through SilentID, you agree that delivery services are subject to the applicable courier's terms and conditions.
SilentID may provide links to courier terms for your convenience. For all delivery-related matters, the courier's terms take precedence.
19.3 Shipping Labels and Proper Use
Shipping labels purchased through SilentID are for single use only. Each label is intended for one parcel and one shipment. Reuse, duplication, alteration, or misapplication of labels may result in delivery failure, tracking errors, or rejection of claims.
You are responsible for ensuring that parcel details, dimensions, weight, and destination information are accurate at the time of purchase. Incorrect information may result in additional charges, delivery failure, or claim denial.
19.4 Packaging Requirements
You are responsible for packaging items appropriately and in accordance with courier requirements. Inadequate, improper, or insufficient packaging may void carrier liability and compensation entitlements.
SilentID may request supporting evidence, including photographs or video recordings, to assist with claim reviews. Provision of evidence does not guarantee compensation or claim approval.
19.5 Tracking and Delivery
Tracking information is provided by couriers and displayed within SilentID for your convenience. Delivery times shown are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
SilentID does not guarantee delivery times, successful delivery, delivery condition, or the accuracy of tracking information. All delivery outcomes are determined by the courier.
19.6 Payments and Fees
All payments for shipping labels are processed by Stripe. SilentID does not store your full payment card details. Payment processing is subject to Stripe's terms and privacy policy.
By completing a payment, you agree to Stripe's applicable terms and policies.
Pricing for shipping labels is displayed before purchase and may vary based on parcel dimensions, weight, destination, and courier selection.
19.7 Delivery Issues, Claims, and Support
If a parcel is delayed, lost, or damaged, you may request support from SilentID. SilentID may assist in collecting information, liaising with the courier, and submitting claims on your behalf where applicable.
SilentID acts as a facilitator and point of contact. SilentID is not the decision-maker for claims. All claim outcomes, including approval, denial, or compensation amounts, are determined by the courier or insurance provider.
SilentID does not guarantee any particular claim outcome.
19.8 Compensation and Refunds
IMPORTANT:
- Any compensation for lost or damaged parcels is determined solely by the courier or insurance provider
- Compensation may be subject to caps, exclusions, conditions, and documentation requirements
- Where compensation is approved and actually received, SilentID will pass through such compensation to you
- SilentID does not guarantee full refunds, replacement value, or any specific compensation amount
- Shipping label fees are non-refundable unless the courier or provider approves a refund
19.9 Optional Insurance and Extra Cover
Optional additional insurance or enhanced cover may be offered at checkout. Such cover is provided by the courier or a third-party insurance provider, not by SilentID.
Coverage terms, limits, exclusions, and claim procedures are set by the relevant provider. SilentID is not an insurer and does not underwrite any coverage. SilentID provides access to such options as a convenience only.
19.10 Exclusions and Misuse
Certain items may be excluded from compensation by couriers or insurers. Prohibited, restricted, hazardous, or improperly declared items are not covered.
Claims may be denied due to:
- Incorrect or inadequate packaging
- Label reuse, alteration, or misuse
- Inaccurate parcel or destination information
- Failure to comply with courier terms
- Suspected fraud or misrepresentation
SilentID reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to shipping services for users who misuse the platform or submit fraudulent claims.
19.11 Limitation of Liability
SilentID's liability in connection with shipping services is limited to the amount of compensation actually received from the courier or insurer, if any.
SilentID is not liable for:
- Courier delays, errors, or delivery failures
- Loss of or damage to parcel contents
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, business opportunities, or goodwill
- Claims denied by couriers or insurers
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
20. VIDEO EVIDENCE & DIGITAL WATERMARKING
20.1 What Video Evidence Is
SilentID allows you to record timestamped packing and unboxing videos for shipping. These videos may help demonstrate what was packed, when it was packed, and the condition of items at the time of recording.
IMPORTANT:
Video evidence is provided as a convenience feature to support dispute resolution. It is NOT a guarantee of claim success, NOT a substitute for insurance, and does NOT create any obligation on couriers, platforms, or insurers to approve claims.
20.2 Evidence ID System
Each video you record is assigned a unique Evidence ID (e.g., SID-A7X9K2M4). This identifier is:
- Generated on your device at the time of recording
- Permanently burned into the video file as a watermark
- Linked to your shipment when you create a shipping label
- Used to identify and verify your evidence
The Evidence ID cannot be altered, removed, or transferred to another video once created.
20.3 On-Device Processing
The watermark (including Evidence ID and timestamp) is burned into the video on your device before upload. This means:
- Processing happens locally using your phone's capabilities
- SilentID does not modify or alter videos after they are uploaded
- The watermarked video is what you choose to upload
- You are responsible for ensuring the video content is accurate
20.4 Timestamp Accuracy
Timestamps displayed in your video evidence reflect your device's clock at the time of recording, converted to UTC (Coordinated Universal Time).
SilentID is not responsible for inaccurate timestamps caused by incorrect device time settings. You are responsible for ensuring your device clock is accurate before recording.
20.5 Evidence Storage & Retention
Video evidence is stored securely for 90 days from the date of upload. During this period, you can:
- View and download your videos
- Generate shareable links
- Download PDF certificates
After 90 days, videos are permanently deleted unless you have extended storage through a Pro subscription. Extended storage terms are specified in your subscription details.
20.6 Sharing Evidence
You may generate shareable public links to your video evidence. When sharing is enabled:
- Anyone with the link can view the video (no SilentID account required)
- The public page displays Evidence ID, timestamp, and video type
- You can disable sharing at any time
- Shared links become invalid once sharing is disabled
You are responsible for who you share evidence links with. SilentID is not responsible for any consequences of sharing your evidence publicly.
20.7 PDF Certificates
You may generate PDF certificates for your video evidence. These certificates include:
- Evidence ID and recording timestamp
- Video type (packing or unboxing)
- Associated tracking number (if linked)
- QR code linking to the evidence
PDF certificates are provided for informational purposes only. They are NOT legally certified documents, NOT notarised, and NOT guaranteed to be accepted by any third party. Acceptance of certificates is at the sole discretion of recipients (couriers, banks, platforms, etc.).
20.8 Limitations & Disclaimers
By using Video Evidence, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Video evidence does NOT guarantee success in any dispute or claim
- SilentID is NOT liable for claim outcomes, regardless of evidence provided
- You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of your video content
- Couriers, platforms, and insurers determine claim validity at their sole discretion
- SilentID does NOT verify authenticity of video content beyond the watermarking process
- SilentID does NOT guarantee that third parties will accept video evidence
SilentID provides the Video Evidence feature "as is" without any warranty of effectiveness, acceptance, or outcome.
